Custom Boat Building
Johanson Boatworks of Rockland, Maine is proud to announce
the completion of our 4th custom powerboat construction
project; a Wesmac 50 bare hull, to an elegant custom downeast-style,
jet propulsion motor yacht. The bare hull arrived at our
facility in the Spring of 2005 and was launched on August
5th 2008. Her maiden voyage included a presentation at
the 2008 Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors Boat Show in Rockland.
Many thanks to those who contributed their expertise to
this project: the gracious owners for their impeccable
taste in interior design, the entire crew at Johanson Boatworks,
and engineering by Mark Fitzgerald.
The project began with
precision engineering and design work of the hull; lowering
the bow for increased visibility
and adding the nacelles to the hull for the jets. Installation
of the following systems proceeded next: Fuel Tanks and
Systems, Engines and Jets, A/C, Water, Watermaker, Waste & Holding
Tanks / Pumps, Washer / Dryer, Central Drainage, Espar,
Thruster, Generator, Mufflers and Windlass with Bow Roller
Assembly.
Phase two; the major construction began with Construction & Fairing
of the Cabin House, Salon Sole, Interior Partitions Below,
Aft Cockpit Gridwork and Engine Insulation
