Our Staff

The Johanson Boatworks team is comprised of many talented individuals. Most have worked in the marine industry for many years and in a few instances several members of the crew have worked together on projects prior to coming on board at Johanson Boatworks. This history combined with respect and trust for each other makes for a very capable crew. We feel fortunate to offer this expertise and knowledge to you for your boat repair / construction needs. Provided below are profiles of selected staff, but every person in our crew plays an important role in offering quality and value to our customers.

Peter Johanson: Founder and president of the company, Peter has been involved in almost every aspect of boat repair and maintenance in his more than twenty five years with Johanson Boatworks. He is respected by even the most discerning customers for his in depth knowledge of boats and boat systems. Sound decision making and an honest, efficient approach to boat repair have gained him an impeccable reputation and a large customer following.

Wayne Corney: Wayne has been part of the Johanson Boatworks team for many years and has played an instrumental role in many of the successes which the company has obtained. A skilled and talented craftsman we are fortunate to have him as a member of our team. His contributions include fine cabinetry work, new deck installations, custom repairs and redesigns on countless carpentry projects, furniture fabrication, mechanical systems, rigging, and yacht delivery.

Douglas "Tug" Kellough: Tug has been part of our crew for many years and most recently has been working primarily with implementing the construction of our custom yachts. Tug is very good at taking the "paper plan" to completion in efficient, useable layout of bulkheads, windows, cabinetry etc. He is very knowledgeable of boat systems, has captained many boat deliveries, and is versatile in his skills and has assisted in many of the ongoing boat repair and construction projects in the yard. A natural teacher, he has proved beneficial in training newer members of the crew.

Kendall Rogers: Peter and Kendall first worked together in the 80's producing Cook 11 frostbite dinghies of which there were over 100 built. Kendall owned and operated North Pond Canoe & Fiberglass at that time. He later worked at Maine Cat and Padebco Custom Boats. Kendall is an expert in fiberglass construction and structural repair and is completely thorough when put to task. We are pleased to have him heading up our fiberglass department.
David Jones "Jonesy": Jonesy has been working as a mechanic and then marine mechanic for over 20 years. He has earned service certificates from Ryder, Yanmar, Westerbeke, Southworth Milton, and ABBRA for Advanced Diesel Marine Mechanic. He has taken courses on SEAFROST refrigeration systems, ESPAR heaters and has attended many more seminars and classes throughout the years. Through his extensive working knowledge of service to re-power to new design he has gained the reputation for being the one of "the best" marine mechanics in the area and we are proud to have him in our crew.
